Innovative Three-Section Design

This chair is separated into three sections: rolling base (shower chair), bridge, and tub base. The rolling base can double as a bedside commode and rolls around the house like a wheelchair, allowing users to transfer comfortably. It also rolls over most toilets to be used as an over-toilet commode. After toileting, the rolling base and tub base connect using the bridge, enabling the unit to slide over the tub lip or curbed shower. Once over the tub/shower, the rolling base and bridge can be disconnected and removed, allowing the shower curtain to be closed or giving the caregiver more space.

Safety and Comfort Features

A custom bridge may be required if the toilet is too close or too far from the tub. The SB2 features a secondary safety mechanism that prevents the chair from rolling off the tracks and causing injury. The SB2 chair comes equipped with a standard front-opening cushion, footrests, flip-back, lockable and removable armrests, 5" lockable casters, a removable commode bucket with lid, chest belt, lap belt, and height adjustability.

Caregiver-Assisted Use

The TubBuddy (SB2) is a caregiver-assisted product; it is not intended for independent use. Weighing 59.5 lbs and supporting up to 350 lbs, the TubBuddy SB2 allows for seamless transfer into and out of a bathtub-style shower, all while remaining comfortably seated. This innovative system requires no bathroom modifications, making it a cost-effective and convenient solution for individuals with mobility challenges.

The TubBuddy SB2 transfer system from Showerbuddy allows safe and simple access to a shower bath with the help of a carer, without any permanent changes to the bathroom fixtures. This system includes a comfortable chair and an elevated bridge capable of clearing most regular bathtub sides, reducing the need for extra transfers between the toilet and showering.

How It Works

Showering:

1. Setup: The TubBuddy’s rolling base connects to the elevated tub base.
2. Transfer: The carer transfers the user across the bridge and into the bathtub for showering.
3. Stabilization: The tub base has anti-slip stabilizing feet and side stabilizers that grip onto the side of the tub for added support.
4. Completion: After showering, the carer transfers the user back out of the bathtub.
5. Multi-Function Use: When not in use for bathing, the TubBuddy serves as a comfortable day chair, toilet chair, and bedside commode.

Toileting:

1. Positioning: Place the TubBuddy over the toilet and adjust the height if necessary.
2. Secure Positioning: Lock the TubBuddy securely with the stable locking caster wheels.
3. Hygiene: Non-corrosive, water-resistant materials make the TubBuddy easy to clean.
